Matt Black Thermostatic Shower Column with Shelf and 254 mm Rain Head

A vertical 304 stainless riser in matt black carries the shelf-mounted thermostatic mixer, the 254 mm rain head and the hand shower. The whole assembly reads as one muted black tone with no reflection on any visible part. Riser height adjusts from 750 to 1100 mm, so it suits everyone in the household.

The valve body is brass; the riser and cover plates are 304 stainless steel in matt black. Head and handset are moulded ABS, the cartridge is ceramic and the hose is 1.5 m PVC. The matt coating takes repeated splashing without losing tone or blistering at the edges.

The thermostatic mixer holds the temperature you set regardless of pressure swings on the supply. A shelf 310 mm wide and 60 mm deep is built into the mixer body and houses a 3-way control: rain head, hand shower and changeover between the two. The 1.5 m hose gives plenty of reach. Inlet centres adjust from 130 to 170 mm, with 150 mm as standard.

Matt black works with large-format anthracite porcelain, polished concrete and dark stone. Against a white or light grey wall it reads as a firm contrast that structures the shower area without any added decoration.

What is the difference between a thermostatic shower and a manual mixer shower?

A thermostatic column keeps the selected temperature even when supply pressure moves — a flushed toilet or a tap opened elsewhere in the house makes no difference. A manual column has to be reset by hand each time. Thermostatic control is particularly worth having where children or older people use the shower, because it removes any risk of a sudden surge towards hot.
